Spring 2012
The Creative Writing
Club offers students
an opportunity to
workshop creative
writing with other
students, explore
their craft through
writing exercises,
attend poetry and
fiction readings,
read their work
publicly, organize
the spring reading,
and work on the
editing and
publication of the
Rapids Review.
The club's
atmosphere is that
of a relaxed,
friendly group of
writers. All
students who would
like to share and
workshop their
writing are invited
to attend the
Creative Writing
Club's meetings.
During the regular
academic year, the
Creative Writing
Club meets
on Fridays
from 2-3 in T208.

ARCC’s student
literary magazine,
seeks
submissions
of prose, poetry,
photography, and
visual art
for the
annual
Spring
issue. The
deadline is
March 7, 2012.
You may

poetry, short
fiction, creative
non-fiction,
photography
or artwork to

Annual Writing About
Art: Firing the
Imagination Contest
Each spring, the
Coon Rapids Campus
of Anoka-Ramsey
hosts its Writing
About Art: Firing
the Imagination
Contest.
Winning submissions
are published in the
Rapids Review, and
those writers are
invited to read
their winning
entries at the
Spring Poetry
Reading in April.
The deadline for
submissions
typically in March.
Details will be
posted as they
arrive.
Once the contest is
underway, ARCC
students are invited
to submit poems or
short essays (max
500 words) based on
observations of one
or more campus works
of art.
Entries must
include your name, phone
number and/or e-mail
address, a hard
copy of your
submission, and a copy on
computer disk.
The contest is open
to all ARCC
students. Each
student may submit a
maximum of five
entries. Short
stories and plays
are limited to 3,000
words.
Anonymous
submissions must
include the above
information and a
written request that
the work be
published
anonymously.
