Introduction to Computers


Introductory course where students learn how computers and computer technology are interwoven throughout the business world and our careers.  Hands-on computer lab experience includes using: (a) the Windows operating system; (b) word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation graphics software; and (c) Internet browsers and communication programs.  In addition, topics such as computer hardware, digital cameras, scanners, utility programs, networks, data security, and conducting research via the Internet are included in this course.

Exploring the Internet

Discover the benefits of accessing the information superhighway!  Learn useful techniques for accessing web sites, using search engines, communicating via e-mail, downloading programs, transmitting data, conversing online, utilizing newsgroups, integrating information into reports and creating a personal web page.

Computerized Presentation Graphics

Comprehensive instruction in computer graphic concepts and applications.  Topics include designing and producing effective graphics for screen shows and persuasive presentations.

Beginning Keyboarding


Develops alphabetic and numeric keyboarding skills using a microcomputer.  Includes formatting basic documents.  Intended for persons who want to improve their keyboarding skills or have no previous keyboarding experience.

Business Interviewing Techniques

Interviewing for employment allows the student to develop communication plans that fit a variety of interview situations.  The course is for those seeking initial employment, or considering a job change.  Topics include job search, job entry interviews, job interview etiquette, cover letters and resumes.

Principles of Management


Examines the historical and philosophical foundations of management as well as current theory and practices.  Managerial decisions as a planner, organizer, motivator, controller, and leader of a diverse workforce in a competitive environment are identified, and evaluated within a critical-thinking framework.

Administrative Office Management
