"The Music program at AR was a great experience and greatly prepared me for my transfer. The music theory courses went well beyond what they taught here at my four year school and went greater in depth because of the small class sizes. I feel I absorbed more in my music history classes because the professor made the class an enjoyable experience and made the class fun. As for the ensembles, they were laid back, but very strict at the same time. It was a lot of fun because you knew you could enjoy yourself, but still have a fulfilling musical experience at the same time. I think the greatest thing about the Anoka Ramsey music department was the fact that since it is such a small program, you really got to know your professors as well as your fellow music majors. I think this made things easier because you were very comfortable asking for help and being surrounded by friends makes learning easier. I wish that I could have spent all four years with the music program at AR."
