Rich Manik
- is a freelance musician and recording artist living in the Twin Cities area
since 1988. He currently performs on all woodwinds and keyboard with many local
and national artists in a variety of musical styles from symphonic to
contemporary popular music. Some of the pop artists Rich has performed
with include, The Temptations, The Four Tops and Kenny Rodgers. Additionally,
Rich has had the opportunity to perform with some well-known jazz musicians such
as Clark Terry, Lou Rawls and Jack McDuff. Rich has extensive experience
performing in and touring with productions of,
The 1940’s Radio Hour
and
A Little Night Music and
when possible, continues to tour with local and national artists. His continuing
performance experiences include recording sessions for radio and television, pit
orchestras and as a featured guest artist / clinician and conductor. Some of the
latest performance experiences have included performances with the George Maurer
Jazz Group as well as national performances with the Minneapolis based band
Synergy. Also, in February 2010, Rich had the opportunity to perform Ravel’s
Bolero with the St. Cloud Symphony. Rich has been the ARCC Director of Bands
as well as an adjunct professor of music at ARCC, Century College and St. Paul
College since 1999. Currently, he is a full – time instructor at Anoka Ramsey
Community College. Rich has earned a B.M. in Jazz Performance from Duquesne
University and a Masters of Music Degree from Boston University.
