Dan Noraker

Applied Horn

 

 

Dan Noraker, french horn instructor, holds a BS Degree in Music Education from North Dakota State University, and a year in the MM program at the Indiana University School of Music in French Horn Performance, studying with Mike Hatfield and Myron Bloom.  Between his schooling at NDSU and IU, he was a member of the Original London Cast of "Blast!", a Broadway-style show that featured many elements of drum and bugle corps, theater and dance.  He was also involved for the two previous summers with the Star of Indiana presentation of "Brass Theater", the group that became "Blast!" Dan has been teaching privately in the Anoka area for over 8 years on horn, drum kit and all of the other brass instruments with students performing with All-State ensembles, MN Youth Symphonies' top orchestra and other honor ensembles every year.  He also has been active as a marching band instructor, drill writer, marching band director and brass choir director at several of the Anoka-Hennepin schools. Dan is occasionally freelances on horn and drum kit, and plays 2-3 times a month at church on drum kit.  He also continues to teach middle and high school students in addition to lessons at Anoka-Ramsey.
