Sharri VanAlstine
Sharri VanAlstine
is currently teaching Choir, Class Piano, and Beginning Applied Piano at Anoka
Ramsey Community College on the Cambridge Campus. Sharri is also an
Instructor of Record and Ph. D. student at the University of Minnesota, working
on her degree in Music Education. She teaches music methods courses and
works with student teachers in music education in addition to her coursework.
Sharri has taught high school and middle school choral music, music
appreciation, and voice lessons for 17 years, including 2 years at Black Forest
Academy in southwestern Germany. In addition to her teaching duties, she
has traveled and performed with Evangelion, a professional choir based in Saint
Paul, Minnesota, on semi-annual tours to Ukraine. She has also directed
the Sanctuary Choir at First Baptist Church in Cambridge, Minnesota for 16
years. Sharri earned her Bachelorʼs
in Music Education at Bethel University (formerly Bethel College) in
Saint Paul, Minnesota, and her Master of Music degree in Choral Conducting from
St. Cloud State University, St. Cloud, Minnesota.
