Q: Why should I consider being part of TRiO SSS?
A: TRiO SSS is a great program that can help you succeed in college and beyond. We have a
     wonderful and supportive staff that will give you the time and attention that you may need
     while navigating your way through the higher education system. We have many services that
     you can benefit from while you are completing a degree at ARCC.

Q: How do I qualify for TRiO SSS?
A: You need to fall into at least one of the following categories:
           1. Low to moderate income (this is based on taxable income and
               will be determined by SSS staff)
           2. First-generation college student (neither parent or guardian
               has completed a four-year degree)
           3. You have a documented disability according to the Americans
               with Disabilities Act (ADA)

Q: How do I apply?
A: You can pick up an application at the Coon Rapids campus, call
     us to have an application mailed to you, or print one from our

Q: How many students does the program serve?
A: We are funded for a maximum of 175 students per year.

Q: Is there an age requirement to be in TRiO SSS?
A: We accept college students of all ages. The only exception is that PSEO students are not
     eligible for TRiO SSS. You must have completed high school or obtained your GED.

Q: Does TRiO SSS provide financial support?
A: We do not provide financial support but we will assist you in
     finding resources for funding such as applying for federal financial aid and scholarships.

Q: Is this program available on both your campuses?
A: TRiO SSS is only located on the Coon Rapids campus. The Cambridge
     campus does have a similar program called Aspire. Please contact Ryan

Q: Is ARCC the only college in Minnesota that has this program?
A: There are
29 TRiO SSS programs across Minnesota, which are all located at institutions of
     higher education. There are many more programs located across the United States.

Q: How do I register for your tuition-free classes?
A: You have to be enrolled in the program to be eligible for the tuition-free classes that we
     offer. You cannot register for these classes without a signature from an SSS advisor.
     Please contact us for more information.

Q: Do I have to apply for this program every semester?
A: Once you have been accepted into TRiO SSS, you do not have to reapply as long as you
     continue to be a registered student at ARCC and are active in the program.
